Teacher and “Model Citizen” Miranda Janeway – Prince George Circuit Court, VA – PROD CHILD PORN <15, OFFNDR 7+ & SEXUAL ABUSE OF ANIMAL – GUILTY
In November 2025, Miranda Janeway, a former Prince George (Virginia) elementary school teacher, was found guilty of sexual abuse of an animal and multiple charges related to sexual exploitation of children. Miranda Janeway was described by an attorney as a “model citizen” prior to being caught and charged for sexually abusing animals and sexual crimes against children. According to a CBS 6 News article, the model citizen, “’coached’ the 22-month-old male victim on sexually fondling her. Prosecutors said on multiple occasions she grabbed his hand to do it.” and Miranda Janeway, “admitted to having a dog perform a sex act on her in July 2023.” Sentencing is scheduled for March 2026.

Teacher KAITLIN RENEA GRIMLEY – Fauquier Circuit Court, VA – CONSENSUAL SEX W/ CHILD 15Y+ – GUILTY
In July 2023, Kaitlin Renea Grimley, a former teacher and employee at Fauquier County Public School in Virginia, was found guilty of CONSENSUAL SEX W/ CHILD 15Y+. According to a news report from WUSA9, Grimley’s original charges were amended to lesser charges in a plea deal in which she would avoid jail time or the requirement to register as a sex offender.

Pastor TROY B. EDWARDS – Norfolk Circuit Court, VA – OBJECT SEX PEN: BY FORCE – GUILTY
In January 2025, TROY EDWARDS, a pastor at Greater Emmanuel Ministries, was found GUILTY of Object Sex Pen: By Force. He was sentenced to 10 years and 8 months, with 10 years of the sentence suspended (93.75% of the sentence was suspended). EDWARDS was also charged with ABDUCT: INTENT TO DEFILE; however, the prosecution declined to proceed with the charges.

Pastor Dave - DAVID LAWRENCE SCHNEIDER – Richmond County Circuit Court, VA – AGG SEX BATT: INCAPACITY – GUILTY – 20-year sentence, 15 years suspended
According to Virginia’s Court System Online Services, on July 14, 2025, David Lawrence Scheider was found guilty of AGG SEX BATT: INCAPACITY and sentenced to 20 years with 15 years suspended. Scheider was also found guilty of INDECENT ACT W/CHILD CUSTODIAN and sentenced to 5 years; however, the 5-year sentence was suspended.
